Welcome to the Corridor! The IH35 Corridor runs from San Antonio north through New Braunfels to the Dallas Metroplex. It contains the youngest and highest educated population in the state of Texas and has a vibrant and versatile economy that is based on a wide variety of business and government activities. Here at RE/MAX Corridor, we live and work in the area from San Antonio to New Braunfels.
Also known as the Randolph Metrocom, the Corridor is composed of 9 cities along IH35. Live Oak, Universal City, Randolph AFB, Converse, Selma, Schertz, Cibolo, New Braunfels, and Marion, are all linked through the Corridor. We have five primary schoold districts; Northeast Independent School Distrct, Judson ISD, and Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD, Comal ISD, and New Braunfels ISD all represented. The area is home to Randolph AFB as well as many Ft Sam Houston and BAMC employees and active duty members. This makes for a vibrant Veteran Community that is active and provides a wealth of volunteers.
Business likes the Corridor with easy access to both IH35 that runs from Mexico to Chicago, and IH 10 that runs east-west from Florida to California. From distribution centers to manufacturing, transportation is key. We are also home to the largest Military Medical complex in the country. With Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) and it's expanding role with wounded warriors, to Wilford Hall's outpatient clinics, to the Center for the Intrepid, our military is complemented with both the Veterans Administration as well as the University of Texas Health Sciences Center and hospitals. This has increased the area's medical capacity, research, and training, making the San Antonio region one of the fastest growing medical destinations.
And we have a growing higher education center as well. The University of Texas at San Antonio has grown into a full service university that is proceeding to a Tier One research status. Texas A&M has the fastest growing campus in it's system here and a new master planned campus is growing each term. To support the large universities, the Alamo Colleges continue to grow with a new campus in Universal City and expansion into New Braunfels with their technical training facility. They have partnered with the Judson ISD for pre-college courses that will allow a high school student to earn college credit, and a two year degree at graduation.
OK, sounds pretty serious, what about recreation? We have loads of recreational choices. From local city parks to Texas State Parks, Canyon Lake, Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, Gruene Hall music, Hill Country bike trails, wineries, great local and world renowned restaraunts, the River Walk, San Antonio Zoo, Sea World, Six Flags over Texas, over 40 golf courses, less than 2 hours to the coast, and so much to choose from. About all we don't have is snow skiing, and we have a great airport that can get you to the slopes if you need to!
This is just an overview of the fantastic life we enjoy here. If you are interested in learning more, call, email, or drop by and we'll be glad to show you our community!
